Itay Gross was born in 1981 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
His early interest in filmmaking and the arts brought him to Ironi Aleph Arts High School in Tel Aviv where he attended a Film & TV production and theory program. While in school, Itay worked for a local cable youth program and gained precious experience in cinematography and directing. He continued pursuing his passion as a soldier in the Israeli army, serving as an educational filmmaker and refining his skills. Upon his release, Itay worked as a journalist for MSN Israel and kept gaining experience, working as an electric and grip for large-scale Israeli feature films, and as a director of photography for shorts and music videos. In 2002 Itay enrolled in the Film & TV department at Tel Aviv University, later transferring to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Film & TV Production BFA program, where he specialized in cinematography and graduated with honors in 2006.

Through his experience in Film and Video Cinematography, Itay has shot and gaffed over 40 projects including Feature Films, Short Narratives, HD Pilots, Documentaries, Music Videos and Commercials, Using various formats in Film (35mm/super35mm, 16mm/super16mm) and Video (HD, Digital Betacam, HD P2, DVCPRO 50, HDV/24P, DVCAM).

Working as a Director of Photography, while still writing and directing his personal work, Itay's work has been displayed at festivals both in the US and worldwide.
