Itay Gross is an Israeli cinematographer based in Tel Aviv / Los Angeles.
Between 2004-present Itay worked in the US, Israel and worldwide as a Director of Photography and Camera Operator on feature films, prime time TV shows, documentaries, commercials and music videos.
EXCISION, a drama-horror feature Itay shot in Los Angeles, starring Annalynn McCord, Tracy Lords, John Waters, Ariel Winter, Roger Bart, Malcolm McDowell and more, premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2012 and was released in theaters worldwide.
MARZIPAN FLOWERS, a drama feature Itay shot in Israel, premiered at Jerusalem International Film Festival 2014 (Won Best Indie Film) and was released in theaters in Israel in 2105.
BAR BAHAR / IN BETWEEN, an Israeli/Palestinian drama feature Itay shot in Israel, premiered at Toronto TIFF 2016 (Won the NETPAC Award), had it’s European premiere at San Sebastian FF (Won 3 awards) and it’s Israeli premiere at Haifa FF (Won 4 awards).
The film was released in Europe and Israel i late 2016 and early 2017 and is scheduled to open in the US in mid 2017.
Itay is a union Director of Photography of The Israeli Association of Cinema and Television (ACT), The Bulgarian Association of Cinematographers (BAC) and The European Federation of Cinematographers (IMAGO).
He is also a member of the Israeli Academy of Motion Pictures and Television.
Itay holds an MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute Conservatory (AFI) in Los Angeles, as well as a BFA in Film & Television and Art & Public Policy from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
